Mitre Hardy Alnwick “Nymph”
The “Mitre” brand of football and other sporting goods was owned by Benjamin Crook of Huddersfield. They had marketed a small range of fishing goods supplied from Redditch but following delivery issues turned to Hardy brothers of Alnwick. The subsidiary of “Mitre Hardy” was formed in 1961 and marketed a range of rods under the brand, until mid-’62 when Hsrdy’s directors realised they could exploit the same market sector directly and introduced the “Neocane” and “Neoglass” rods.
